Motocross

Rob has gone through a few dirtbikes, and has several friends that he goes riding with. One of them has a son that has diabetes. He organized a race in Tooele County called "Race for a Cure" We were able to go up for a couple days, I got to watch Rob race, watch the other races and have fun hanging out. I saw a couple boys from Genola that I used to visit with during summers that are still racing. It was a lot of fun and was glad we were able to help out and donate a little bit to help his son and the Diabetes Specialty Center that were helping out. They handed out T-Shirts and prizes and it was fun to be there for a couple days. Rob did really good in his first 2 races, and then his spark plug fouled out the very beginning of his 3rd race, but he got first place in both of the races that he was able to race in. All in all it was a good time!

Although I loved my puppies, sometimes they could be little stinkers. Mocha would TERRORIZE Kela. Kela had a beatiful full tail and Mocha would attack it. We would find tufts of Kelas tail in Mochas mouth. Mocha also had a pooping problem, and had a hard time learning that she wasnt allowed to poop in the house. At night Rob finally put her in the cage and let Kela sleep out of the cage in his room. One day we went into the room to find Mocha and she was laying in her cage asleep. She slept upside down on her back with her legs hanging everywhere for a while, it was so cute! Im posting a picture of when Kela layed around with me all day when I was sick. (See previous post) He was definitely my favorite dog...
Ok, So I said I was going to blog about last year so I could start with 2010... Now that is almost June... I finished blogging about Christmas in Mexico.. So! Since I last blogged, I will run through my life... Rob & I got 2 dogs. Both of them were Husky/Wolf Hybrids. Kakaela, is a black and white 2 yr old that we got for free from a family that lives up the street from Rob. A couple months later, we got 6 week old Mocha. A brown /black puppy. (Her markings werent very noticeable and she had longer floppy ears, but we loved her) We had been keeping them at Robs house, and eventually had to sell them both because we weren't allowed to keep them there and I didnt have a place to keep them. I miss them both SO much. We recently received updated pictures from Mocha's new familyand she is HUGE. We sold her to a family that had just lost their family dog of 10+ years. They were a very sweet family and the little girl they had absolutely loved her. We are glad we were able to find such a good home for Mocha & Kela. Kela went to a home of a couple that had a very large back yard and went running every day. We havent seen pictures of him, but miss him sooo much!! Rob loved Kela and we took him EVERYWHERE. Literally, everywhere. Hed just sit in the back of the truck (or the back of my car) and stick his head up front and hang out with us. He was a sweet, sweet dog. One day I was sick and didnt go to work. Robs roommates were gone for a couple of days and Rob had to go to work, so I went to try and sleep some of the sickness off. When I woke up, Kela was laying in bed next to me... It made my day, he knew I wasnt feeling well so he just layed there next to me till I got up. He followed me around the rest of the day nudging me and giving me loves... I definitely am going to get another Husky/Wolf dog, they are the best to take everywhere and play with, and are so tempramental!

Scrat and Squirrel

Rob decided that he wanted a pet, so he looked at all kinds of animals and decided he wanted a sugar glider. They run pretty expensive, but we found a family that was getting rid of them. We got 2 sugar gliders, a BIG cage, food and sleeping pouches fir $75. They were really cute, but SO stinky!! They would just sit in your hood or in the pocket of your hoodie and chill out. If they were hyper though, thye'd run all over the room and jump from the couch to the coffee table to the mantle, etc. They were really fun to have! We finally decided to get rid of them because they were getting too stinky and Rob wasnt supposed to have animals in his apartment. We sold them to a family with alot of kids that were SO excited to have them.

Eve

So if any of you have watched the Disney movie Wall-E, the girl robots name is Eve. When one of the girls left the law firm I work at, I inherited her heater because I am always SO cold! One day I realized, my heater looked alot like Eve! So after work we made the heater into Eve, and thats who she's been ever since! She made the move into our new building in American Fork with us, and is now a good friend in our department. (Eve decided to dress up and an angel dog for Halloween, shown here... Thats all for now! :)

Kansas!
This week we've been in Kansas landscaping Rob's parents yard. His brother-in-law Ryan is going to school in Albuquerque for it so hes heading the whole thing. Rob and I drove to Vegas late Thursday night and stayed at a friends house so we could leave my car there. Friday morning we flew into Kansas and Rob's dad picked us up at the airport. Monday we started working hard on the yard. We planted 3 trees and then rented a sod cutter from Home Depot and started cutting out the areas in the yard where we needed to replant the trees and flowers. We rolled up the sod and threw it in a truck we borrowed from one of the neighbors. It all sounds so nice and easy but by the end of the day we were all exhausted and worn out.At the end of the working day this is what I looked like.

Even though we were tired, we went to the YMCA so the boys could play racquetball and we could all go swimming. It was a fun way to end a hard day. Tuesday night I started to catch a cold so Wednesday I missed out on some of the flower planting to take a nap... I kinda felt like a slacker but its not fun to be out in the cold wind when youre sick..Tuesday & Wednesday we went to pick up some "Zoo Poop" Really, it was just compost, but apparently they get alot of their "fertilizer and mix-ins from the zoo. :) we rented a tiller and had to till everything all together. It wasnt as easy as we had hoped since the ground was mostly clay. Robs mom, Susan, kept saying that if she knew how to make pots she'd be in business!!! (Which was the truth.. ) We finished tilling and started planting all the flowers and plants. Thursday we finished planting the flowers, threw 2 more truckloads of "Zoo Poop" over everything and watered it all. Afterwards, we all cleaned up, ate and then Rob and I went to a pet shop and played with a little puppy. He was so cute!!!

Thats all I've got for now!!
