Scrat and Squirrel

Rob decided that he wanted a pet, so he looked at all kinds of animals and decided he wanted a sugar glider. They run pretty expensive, but we found a family that was getting rid of them. We got 2 sugar gliders, a BIG cage, food and sleeping pouches fir $75. They were really cute, but SO stinky!! They would just sit in your hood or in the pocket of your hoodie and chill out. If they were hyper though, thye'd run all over the room and jump from the couch to the coffee table to the mantle, etc. They were really fun to have! We finally decided to get rid of them because they were getting too stinky and Rob wasnt supposed to have animals in his apartment. We sold them to a family with alot of kids that were SO excited to have them.

Eve

So if any of you have watched the Disney movie Wall-E, the girl robots name is Eve. When one of the girls left the law firm I work at, I inherited her heater because I am always SO cold! One day I realized, my heater looked alot like Eve! So after work we made the heater into Eve, and thats who she's been ever since! She made the move into our new building in American Fork with us, and is now a good friend in our department. (Eve decided to dress up and an angel dog for Halloween, shown here... Thats all for now! :)

Kansas!
This week we've been in Kansas landscaping Rob's parents yard. His brother-in-law Ryan is going to school in Albuquerque for it so hes heading the whole thing. Rob and I drove to Vegas late Thursday night and stayed at a friends house so we could leave my car there. Friday morning we flew into Kansas and Rob's dad picked us up at the airport. Monday we started working hard on the yard. We planted 3 trees and then rented a sod cutter from Home Depot and started cutting out the areas in the yard where we needed to replant the trees and flowers. We rolled up the sod and threw it in a truck we borrowed from one of the neighbors. It all sounds so nice and easy but by the end of the day we were all exhausted and worn out.At the end of the working day this is what I looked like.

Even though we were tired, we went to the YMCA so the boys could play racquetball and we could all go swimming. It was a fun way to end a hard day. Tuesday night I started to catch a cold so Wednesday I missed out on some of the flower planting to take a nap... I kinda felt like a slacker but its not fun to be out in the cold wind when youre sick..Tuesday & Wednesday we went to pick up some "Zoo Poop" Really, it was just compost, but apparently they get alot of their "fertilizer and mix-ins from the zoo. :) we rented a tiller and had to till everything all together. It wasnt as easy as we had hoped since the ground was mostly clay. Robs mom, Susan, kept saying that if she knew how to make pots she'd be in business!!! (Which was the truth.. ) We finished tilling and started planting all the flowers and plants. Thursday we finished planting the flowers, threw 2 more truckloads of "Zoo Poop" over everything and watered it all. Afterwards, we all cleaned up, ate and then Rob and I went to a pet shop and played with a little puppy. He was so cute!!!

Thats all I've got for now!!

Christmas in Mexico!!!

Okay, so I still havent gotten any pictures from Christmas... So im going to wait for a few more days to get all the pictures together and then Ill write all about our adventures in Mexico for Christmas!!!!! :)

All right everyone, almost a year later, but I finally got pictures!!! Rob and I followed my sister and brother in law to Mexico, we stopped in Gallup for the night and stayed at a SUPER ghetto old hotel. We all had to squeeze in there pretty good. It started to get really cold so Kimball decided he was going to run out to the car and grab some extra blankets for the kids. He walked out the door, and as soon as it shut, we heard "Hey! Get over here!" a few fighting words and then the van door slam and someone hitting the van, we FLEW to the door, opened it a bit and saw that there was a guy outside standing in front of the van kicking and punching it. We hurried and locked the door, looked through the window all while frantically trying to call 911. We threw the kids in the second part of the room and told them to lie down and be quiet, they were all crying, and it was the SCARIEST thing ever! We kept hearing the (VERY) drunk man yelling and screaming at Kimball, accusing him of sleeping with his wife, etc... His wife came out of their room and was yelling and screaming at HIM. He hit the car a few more times and started to walk out of the Hotel parking lot. Kimball took his chance and ran into the room. The cops came and needless to say it was a VERY long night. The boys kept getting scared and crying and we were all on edge. The guy was obviously druk and on drugs and apparently had caused problems in that town before. The cops went out to patrol and look for him. Warning to all: DONT stay in ghetto hotels in New Mexico... GRODY GRODY people!!! BESIDES all that, we got into Mexico and had a good time, Christmas Eve day, we all went on a hike, (in the nice warm, WONDERFUL day) We had pozole that night as usual and my Aunt Shirley, and the Feste's came over for it. We opened a couple presents that night (the usual pajamas and one of Grandma Taylors gifts) The Browns came caroling to our house (yay!!) and it was fun for Rob to listen to a couple of the Spanish carols. Afterwards we al went to bed and waited for "Santa" to come. The next morning everyone was so excited! When we got downstairs everyone had their own quilt and monthly supply of candy. Rob got some brown DC shoes he needed, a t-shirt, some tools and candy. I got a sweater that I needed, a shirt, some jewelry, and we both got our own supply of bottled beans, chile, and tomato sauce and salsa. :) After everyone opened their presents from Santa, friends, and Mom and Dad, we all went and had breakfast. Bacon, eggs, toast, pancakes, hot chocolate, whatever we wanted! After breakfast we all played with our new toys, watched new movies and ate lots of candy. We got Christmas Dinner ready and ate LOTS and LOTS of food! We basically ate for the rest of the day... yummy! :) My nephews had so much fun playing with their wheelbarrow and garden tools. The day aftetr Christmas Rob and I left so we could spend a couple days in AZ with his grandparents and Aunt and Uncle. Once we got back to Utah it was cold and snowy still... :( but we were glad to be home.

Valentines Day 2009

So, for Valentines Day this year, Rob... didn't plan anything... So this is how we came about our activities this year. Friday the 13th, we took our Sugar Gliders up to Cabelas with a mutual friend to buy a gun. (On or way in Rob saw a sign about breakfast buffets there so he said "Hey, maybe that's what we'll do for breakfast tomorrow!!") Roscoe (our friend) bought a Glock .40, only he hasn't been shooting very much.. So later that day Roscoe, Brandon, (Robs friend from HS that just so happens to teach concealed carry/personal defense classes) Rob & I went out by Tooele to go shooting. It was SO much fun.. I definitely have missed shooting!!! On our way home, Roscoe got a call from his manager at XanGo asking for his last count on Monster Truck tickets for the Saturday showing. He asked us if we wanted in so, of course, us with no plans... ended up with 2 tickets to Will Call for the Monster Truck show. I, was not so happy. If it had been on any other day I would have been ecstatic, but I just couldn't see how that was going to be a romantic way for us to spend our first Valentines Day. Fast forward to Saturday morning... I meet Rob at his house and we didn't make it in time to breakfast. We met our friend Tiffany at Rice King in Provo for lunch (YUM!) then went to Macey's to get some Valentines for my nephews. We stopped by my sisters house for a few minutes to play with the kids before we headed up to SLC . I was FRANTICALLY trying to find a card or some paper or SOMETHING to give to Rob. Thankfully, Aubrey saved my life and gave me a sheet or red card stock paper and some heart stickers. I folded it in half and stuck it in between my shirt and undershirt in order to sneak it out of the house (pathetic, I know..) Before we went to the truck show we stopped at the Sugar Glider Shop in Midvale to get some food for the babies. While he ran in, I got out the card to try to finish writing it. I was ALMOST finished and he SNUCK UP ON ME!!! He scared me SO bad and then I was upset cause I can NEVER surprise him with anything.. not even a CARD!! I was upset for a little bit at the truck show but as soon as the motocross riders came out I was happy again. :)
We watched those trucks do some AWESOME things...

Afterwards we decided to go get ice cream and/or food. We ended up at Jimmy Johns (it used to be a ice cream place). We were waiting for Brandon and his girl on the corner to figure out where we could go when all of the sudden we hear a TRAX Train horn and then a "CRASH!!!" Rob and I turned just in time to see the TRAX Train ram into the side of a Ford Explorer. The car was trying to make a U-Turn, and tried to make it on a red light. It (obviously) didnt make it. We saw a guy and a girl gather up some stuff from the car and take off down the road before the cops came. The driver stayed at with the car and then all the police and fire engine and everyone showed up. It was pretty crazt. Afterwards we went to The Pie to get some pizza. It was a pretty crazy night but ended up being really fun!

Since I cant ever surprise Rob, I snuck into his house Sunday morning and set up a (late) Valentines Day surprise! All in all, it was a fun couple of days!

For my birthday in November Rob surprised me and took me to my favorite Chinese restaurant in Provo. I absolutely LOVE the food there and the owners are amazing!! One of my favorite things there is the Egg Drop Soup.. :)(You should try going there, its called Rice King.. the food is great and its pretty cheap!) Rob invited some of our mutual friends to eat with us and surprised me with a Tres Leches cake from a mexican store.. it was yummy and really pretty!!!Afterwards we went to Kimball and Aubrey's house and spent a little time there and watched a movie. It wasnt a hige eventful birthday but it was a fun calm way to spend my birthday!!
For Thanksgving 08, we went to Kansas to see Rob's family. We were able to spend about a week with them. We flew from Salt Lake to Denver the 25th and drove from Denver to Witchita, KS... I'm afraid I wasnt a very good traveling partner for most of the way. I usually get pretty car sick so I loaded up on dramamine and ended up sleeping most of the way there while Rob went crazy on the very flat road. It was fun getting to know them. We went to a restaurant called Cheddar's (SO good!) a couple times and got ice cream at Freddy's... We went fishing (not a very good turnout), played Murder in the dark (pretty close to every night) and ate some delicious food!! Rob and I were able to go to the Kansas Air Museum for a few hours. It was really fun to watch his reaction... haha. My grandpa used to be a pilot so it was fun for both of us to walk around and read about everything. Robs mom is from AZ, and knows my dads cousin Robert. Robs grandma knows my great aunt as well and only lives a few minutes away from her. (Go figure) Somebody always knows someone from my family!! Rob has 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Emily ( married to Ryan & living in Albuquerque) Nathan, Aaron and Sarah. We really enjoyed going there, and are planning on going again in a couple weeks. We are so excited to go!!! (This time we'll actually take some real pictures.. :) )

Ive done it!!

Ok, so Aubrey and many others have finally convinced me to get a blog.. So, what better to do when youre sick and have the day off? Lock yourself in your room and start a blog.. Haha! I figured it woud be nice too cause then my mom will actually know that my life really isnt that eventful. :) I know Im horrible at keeping in touch with people, and this way people will know Im alive! I figure Id let everyone know what Im up to right now.. Im living in Lindon with 4 funny girls! I work at Myler Disability Law Firm in Lehi as a receptionist and help the Case and Hearing Managers with our spanish speaking clients.. I absolutely LOVE my job! Even though I live in Lindon I'm rarely there. Rob lives in Provo and I find myself here after work for dinner, to watch a movie, play with friends, etc... So basically my life is my job and Rob. I want to start going to school soon and am thinking about getting a degree as a Paralegal, but.. we'll see! Anyway, I'm going to end this blog, find some pictures and start blogging about some fun things I've gotten to do the last few months!
